Dr. Joyce Pedersen, ACVIM, is board certified in small animal internal medicine. She joined Redwood Veterinary Clinic in 2003. Dr. Pedersen received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University. She then completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Michigan State University and a residency in small animal internal medicine at Cornell University. She is specifically interested in hematology, oncology,endocrinology, and dermatology as well as liver and kidney disease. Before moving to Sonoma County in 2003, Dr. Pedersen had practiced in New York as well as the San Francisco Bay area and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our practice.

Dr. Stacey Llanes, DVM. Dr. Stacey Llanes was born and raised in Sonoma County, CA. She attended Sonoma State University and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Animal Physiology. She attended the University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Her hobbies include spending time with her husband and two children, horse back riding, and attending competitions with her family's German Short-Haired and German Wire-Haired Pointers.

Dr. Richard Hoskins, DVM. Doctor Hoskins joined the staff in 1990. His interests in veterinary medicine are broad. As a team member he offers a diversity of services, surgical and diagnostic, for the patient/client.

Dr. Sarah Lee, DVM. Dr Lee is a Bay Area native. She received her B.S. degree in Psychology from U.C. Davis in 2004. After graduating from U.C. Davis she moved to southern California and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences Veterinary School in 2008. During school she worked with various local Humane Societies and animal rescue groups. She has a special interest in avian and exotic animal medicine. After graduating she accepted a position at Berkeley Dog and Cat Hospital as a general practitioner with mentorship by Dr. Harkewicz, exotic animal specialist. Dr. Lee joined Redwood Veterinary Clinic in 2010 originally as an emergency clinician and now takes appointments week days.

Dr. Cynthia Heiller, DVM has been with the Emergency Animal Hospital, an affiliation of Redwood Veterinary Clinic, since 1999. Dr. Heiller began her veterinary career as a licensed veterinary technician. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. She has been practicing emergency medicine first as a technician and then as a veterinarian for over thirty-three years. Dr. Heiller spends much of her free time training and showing German Wirehaired Pointers with over ten dogs currently most of which are actively in shows and trials!

Dr. Susan Ostapak, DVM. Dr. Ostapak joined our Emergency Animal Hospital staff in 1998. She is also a veterinarian for the San Francisco Zoo and is active in many projects worldwide.

Dr. David M. Brooks, DVM. We are happy to announce the addition of Dr. Brooks to the Emergency Animal Hospital. 

Theda Mobley,RVT. Theda is Redwood Veterinary Clinic's chief technician. She has been part of the clinic's team since 1976! Her duties include surgical prep,surgical assistance, x-ray, treatments, inventory, purchasing, and supervising staff. Theda is a devoted horse enthusiast and our resident artist,entertaining us with her wonderful wood carvings and pottery. She shares a keen interest of tortoises with a few other members of our staff. 


Nicole Brown, RVT.  Nicole began working for the Emergency Animal Hospital in 2004. Since starting here she completed a bachelor's degree at Sonoma State University and became a Registered Veterinary Technician. She is currently in the pursuit of her Veterinary Technician Specialty License in Emergency and Critical Care. In her spare time she enjoys participating in racing events such as the "Tough Mudder" and "Spartan Race". You will most likely see Nicole out and around accompanied by her beautiful, happy, and friendly Akita "Yumi".

Tiffany Rickert, RVT. Tiffany has been working in the veterinary field since 2001. She joined our team in 2013. She finds the most enjoyable part of her job to be meeting new patients and their families. She also enjoys the fact that there is always something new to learn in veterinary medicine. She is experienced in emergency, critical care and general practice. Tiffany lives with her husband in Santa Rosa, sharing their home with 2 dogs, 2 cats and 7 fainting goats (Google them if you are unfamiliar with the breed - they are very interesting!). Tiffany is expecting her first baby due February 2015. 

Lydia Nunez, RVT. Lydia has been a part of our team since 2007. Working at both the Emergency Animal Hospital and Redwood Veterinary Clinic has given her a good overall view of our practice and led her into a supervisory role for us. She graduated from SRJC's Vet Tech program in 2009 and currently attends Dominican University to complete a degree in business. In her spare time she runs Special Pets Rescue - a dog rescue nonprofit. The link for this successful and helpful service is found on our link page.
