Our Team

Dr. Richard Hoskins, DVM.

Doctor Hoskins joined the staff in 1990. His interests in veterinary medicine are broad. As a team member Dr. Hoskins offers a diversity of services, surgical and diagnostic, for the patient/client.

Dr. Joyce Pedersen, ACVIM

is board certified in small animal internal medicine. She joined Redwood Veterinary Clinic in 2003. Dr. Pedersen received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University. She then completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Michigan State University and a residency in small animal internal medicine at Cornell University. Dr. Pedersen is specifically interested in hematology, oncology,endocrinology, and dermatology as well as liver and kidney disease. Before moving to Sonoma County in 2003, Dr. Pedersen had practiced in New York as well as the San Francisco Bay area and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our practice.

Dr. Stacey Llanes, DVM.

Dr. Stacey Llanes was born and raised in Sonoma County, CA. She attended Sonoma State University and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Animal Physiology. Dr. Llanes attended the University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Her hobbies include spending time with her husband and two children, horse back riding, and attending competitions with her family's German Short-Haired and German Wire-Haired Pointers.


Dr. Andriana Albini

Dr. Andriana Albini grew up in Sonoma County and started with us as a veterinary technician after completing her bachelor's degree in Biology at Saint Mary's College, and her doctorate at Western University of Health Sciences, she was happy to be able to return home to practice veterinary medicine. At our hospital, Dr. Albini works at both Redwood and our Emergency clinic. Her interests include surgery, emergency/critical care medicine, and cardiology. In her spare time, Dr. Albini enjoys going to the beach, hiking, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family, including her bearded dragon, Apollo.

Dr. Sergio Espinosa, DVM

In August of 2015 we were thrilled to announce the addition of veterinarian Dr. Espinosa to the Emergency Animal Hospital of Santa Rosa's team and welcome him back! Dr. Espinosa was born in Mexico and moved to Sonoma County at the age of 4. he joined Redwood Veterinary Clinic in 2004 as a veterinary technician while attending Sonoma State University. In 2010, he left for veterinary school to attend St. George's University in Grenada and completed his clinical year at the University of Florida. After graduating in 2014, he went on to complete a one-year small animal rotating internship at Miami Veterinary Specialists in South Florida. he is happy to be back home in the Bay Area and practicing veterinary medicine here at the Emergency Animal Hospital of Santa Rosa.

Dr. Margie Garza, DVM

Dr. Garza has been with us since 2016, first as a technician and now as a veterinarian at our emergency clinic. She attended veterinary school at St. George's University in Grenada and completed her clinical year at the University of Oklahoma. In her free time, Dr. Garza enjoys leather crafting, motorcycle riding, and spending time with her menagerie of animals.


Dr. Susan Ostapak, DVM

Dr. Ostapak joined our Emergency Animal Hospital of Santa Rosa staff in 1998 as an emergency veterinarian. She is also a veterinarian for the San Francisco Zoo and is active in many projects worldwide.


Dr. Sean Wells, DVM, ACVS.

Dr. Wells is a board certified veterinary surgeon that comes into our clinic on call as needed. His surgical interests include orthopedic and oncologic surgery with a special interest in minimally invasive techniques, reconstructive procedures, and joint replacement. Dr. Wells is a welcome addition to the Redwood Veterinary Clinic team!


Lydia Nunez, RVT.

Lydia has been a part of the Redwood Veterinary Clinic team since 2007. Working at both the Emergency Animal Hospital of Santa Rosa and Redwood Veterinary Clinic has given her a good overall view of our practice and led her into a supervisory role for us. Ms. Nunez graduated from Santa Rosa Junior College's Veterinary Technician program in 2009 and currently attends Dominican University to complete a degree in business. In Ms. Nunez's spare time she runs Special Pets Rescue - a dog rescue nonprofit. The link for this successful and helpful service is found on our link page.


Gail McGuffey, RVT.

Gail has been a Redwood Veterinary Clinic staff member on and off dating back over 30 years. She returned in 2013 and works part time for the Emergency Animal Hospital of Santa Rosa. She is a well known dressage trainer and has competed and trained both nationally and internationally. Gail has rescued multiple Shar Pei pups.


Sarah Harris, RVT.

Sarah is a vital member of the Redwood Veterinary Clinic team. She manages our lab and assists with surgeries and treatments. In her spare time she enjoys horseback riding, especially eventing which combines the three disciplines of dressage, cross country, and show jumping. She also loves to travel far and wide. Her side kick "Shelby", a very personable rescued chihuahua, keeps us entertained throughout the day.


Emily Paris, RVT.

Emily has been here since 2014 and is a wonderful asset to our team. Emily’s cheerfulness is contagious, and she is a pleasure to have on the team, always checking in on her fellow co-workers and making it a fun work environment. Emily has worked in most positions here and wears a lot of hats. Emily enjoys backpacking, yoga, and running in her off time, and spending time with her chickens, three dogs, and a cat.

Colleen Nagy, RVT.

Colleen attended Humboldt State University and then went to Santa Rosa Junior College to obtain her veterinary technician license. She is a great asset to the Redwood and Emergency team. In her free time, Colleen enjoys hiking, D&D, and spending time with her reptiles, dogs, and cat.
